This is how we’re betting this game:

Tennessee vs South Carolina Prediction

If we could bet the over on the number of turnovers in this game, I’d be all over it. Tennessee has a swarming defense with the sixth-highest defensive turnover percentage in the country and get to take on a sloppy South Carolina offense that is a turnover machine.

The Gamecocks cough it up on 21.6% of their possessions, good for 330th nationally, but they do force turnovers on 22.4% of their opponents’ possessions as well. They like to push the tempo and rank 52nd in college basketball in adjusted tempo, but that’ll likely just mean more turnovers and fast-break opportunities for the Volunteers.

Tennessee may have found something in their last matchup against a solid Texas A&M defense, shooting 11-26 from beyond the arc. If they’re able to shoot anywhere close to that number, it’ll be impossible for South Carolina to keep up.

At 4-2 against the spread (ATS) on the road this season and 2-0 ATS as road favorites, Tennessee has a team that travels well. They keep offenses uncomfortable and for a Gamecocks attack that never gets comfortable anyway, that means trouble.

South Carolina is just 2-6 ATS in their last eight games as an underdog and I think that trend continues. Even if the shots aren’t falling for the Volunteers, their 35th-highest offensive rebounding rate against the Gamecocks’ 315th-ranked defensive rebounding rate means they’ll have enough second-chance opportunities to make up for it.

Give me Tennessee -7 (-110) as my best bet here as the Volunteers cover the spread for their fifth time in their last six games.

-110 odds are fine and all, but the best odds are +2000. Don’t forget to claim your offer now. Bet $10, Win $200 by signing up for WynnBET now!
