Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Powder Springs, Ga.. 3. 839. Wide receiver. Kaleb Webb. player

McEachern High School

Although Tennessee football’s leading receiver is back in Cedric Tillman, Josh Heupel and Alex Golesh ran a system that required three receivers all capable of making big plays. The slot receiver in Velus Jones Jr. and No. 2 wideout in JaVonta Payton were the other guys rounding out that group. Both are now gone.

Now, Kodi Burns has plenty of options to choose from in both cases. Ramel Keyton, Walker Merrill and Jalin Hyatt could be the No. 2 wideout, and Jimmy Calloway, Jimmy Holiday and Hyatt could be the slot guy. There’s a reason both Andison Coby and Kaemen Marley have transferred out

Heupel also brought in four receivers in the Vols’ 2022 class. Of those, Kaleb Webb is the most likely to play. With Hyatt more the size of a slot guy and Merriill having seen limited action this past year and Keyton still not having broken out despite his experience, No. 2 wideout seems to be the spot of greater need.

Webb, another early enrollee and a four-star across every service except ESPN, where he is a three-star, stands between 6’2″ and 6’4″ and weighs in the range of 185 to 195 pounds. He’s a true wideout, has great size and has the most potential of any receiver based on ratings. The product of Georgia’s Cobb County could easily take Payton’s role this year, so watch out.
