Ranking transfers to junior college

Isaac Washington; Butler Community College Grizzlies

A commitment in Tennessee football’s 2021 class, Isaac Washington was kept out of spring practice due to an incident involving him and two other freshmen. The 6’4″ 279-pound defensive lineman entered the portal when spring ball ended and went to community college in Kansas. He had 26 tackles and two sacks for the Grizzlies in 2021, and he has three years of eligibility left.

Martavius French; Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragons

In addition to the three freshmen suspended due to that incident, Martavius French was also involved. As a result, the four-star in UT’s 2020 class also had to miss Josh Heupel’s first spring session. He transferred the same day as Washington.

French also went to community college in Kansas. At 6’2″ 220 pounds, he was a breakout star with five and a half sacks, six tackles for a loss, five pass deflections and 60 tackles, 31 of which were solo. He has three years of eligibility left too.

Transfers to non-Division I schools

Jarious Abercrombine; Bethel Royals

One of the transfers before Tennessee football even began playing in 2020, Jarious Abercrombie hit the portal and then joined the Illinois State Redbirds. However, he didn’t play, so he transferred again to the Bethel Royals, an NAIA program. Ay 6’3″ 285 pounds, Abercrombie played nine games for Bethel in 2021 and now has two years of eligibility remaining.
