8. Jordan Allen; Weber State Wildcats

Initially a four-star commitment in Tennessee football’s 2018 class as an edge rusher, Jordan Allen switched over to tight end. However, he never saw action, so he entered the portal as the 2020 season was ending. The 6’4″ 235-pound tight end joined the Weber State Wildcats, but in his final year of eligibility, he didn’t play at all.
7. Isaiah Montgomery: Jacksonville State Gamecocks

A walk-on for the Vols, the 6’0″ 207-pound receiver entered the portal a month into Jeremy Pruitt’s final season. He joined the Jacksonville State Gamecocks and actually played in the spring of 2021 for them. This past fall, he had nine catches for 67 yards.
6. Sean Brown; Jacksonville State; Gamecocks

Just like Jackson Lowe, Sean Brown was part of UT’s future at tight end. However, just as spring practice began under Josh Heupel, he entered the transfer portal and became teammates with Montgomery at Jacksonville State. At 6’5″ 246 pounds, He was actually a solid tight end for them, catching 13 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns.
5. Nyles Gaddy; Jackson State Tigers

Another walk-on, Nyles Gaddy hit the portal in November of 2020, which was the middle of Tennessee football’s season. The 6’4″ 230-pound linebacker became part of Deion Sanders’ first fall team this past year, and he became a breakout player, totaling 34 tackles, five tackles for a loss, four sacks, an interception, five hurries and two pass breakups.
