Tennessee football’s five most underrated signees in 2022 class

Another three-star across the board, Kalib Perry is underrated for the same reason Jayson Jenkins is. He’s versatile. Now, similar to Marquarius White, Perry being underrated likely won’t show for a couple of years given how deep Tennessee football is at the area where he could thrive this year, but that doesn’t change what he brings to the table.
Standing at 6’3″ 215 pounds, Perry can play linebacker or edge rusher. He is extremely athletic off the edge and can get into the backfield pretty quickly, and after initially being seen as a tweener between linebacker and edge rusher, he eventually became a guy who could play both. More offers began to roll in just as he committed to Rocky Top.
UT got Perry right out of Scott County, which is part of the Lexington metro area, where the University of Kentucky is. Luring him away from the Wildcats when a defensive specialist like Mark Stoops is there was pretty impressive.
Before he was getting noticed, the Cincinnati Bearcats, a College Football Playoff team, and Purdue Boilermakers, who beat the Vols in the Music City Bowl, were competing with UT for Perry. Tennessee football got a steal landing him, and his 4.55 40-time adds to his potential.
