It was another quiet day for the Tennessee Vols in athletics, but things are starting to ramp up again. Men’s basketball has a matchup tonight, which we’ll do a separate preview for, women’s basketball has a matchup Thursday, and the softball season opens Friday.

Our morning update on Rocky Top, however, doesn’t focus on any scheduled games. Awards and awards watch lists are the story, as we’ll focus on two postseason awards watch lists involving one women’s basketball player and an academic award for numerous athletes.

Beyond all of those awards to cover, we’ve also got news surrounding the upcoming softball schedule just before the first pitch is thrown out on Friday, so we’ll touch that too. It’s a light news day for the Tennessee Vols, but there’s still plenty to cover, so let’s dive in.
