They’re loaded at receiver, but with Cedric Tillman likely to be gone after 2022, Tennessee football will have a pretty interesting competition for its go-to wideout. As a result, Josh Heupel needs to get as many such players as possible, and he now has the Vols trending for a 2023 prospect from Arizona who fits the bill.

Kyler Kasper, a four-star across the board out of Gilbert, Ariz., has the Vols in his top 10. Standing at 6’5″ and weighing in the range of 185 to 195 pounds, Kasper attends Williams Field High School in Maricopa County, just outside of Phoenix.

Joining Tennessee football in Kasper’s top 10 are the Arizona State Sun Devils, USC Trojans, UCLA Bruins, Oregon Ducks, Georgia Bulldogs, Ohio State Buckeyes, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Miami Hurricanes and Iowa Hawkeyes. He announced the schools Saturday evening on Twitter.

Given his size, Kasper would be an incredible target for the Vols. He would bring some experience too, as his father, Kevin Kasper, spent eight years in the NFL from 2001 to 2008 with nine different teams, most notably the Arizona Cardinals in 2002 and 2003.

Since Kevin Kasper was a walk-on to Iowa and became their top all-time receiver after Kirk Ferentz took over in 1999, the Hawkeyes could be tough competition for all the other schools on the list trying to land him. Ferentz still being there gives him a leg up.

On the other hand, Kyler Kasper may want to carve out his own legacy. Heupel has proven his system is conducive to a player like Kasper, and there are no proven wideouts outside of Tillman, so he would have a great chance to start immediately if he joined Rocky Top.

There are no favorites to land Kasper on the Rivals Future Cast or the 247Sports Crystal Ball. Iowa is a majority favorite on the Rivals Fan Future Cast, and Oregon is a majority favorite on On3 with Iowa coming in second. UCLA, USC and Arizona State are tied for third. Tennessee football isn’t in any running yet based on predictions, so landing Kasper will be a tough fight.
