4. Adarius Redmond – Wide receiver

Hometown: Powell, Tenn. (Powell High School)

Justin Willians and Adarius Redmond are two receivers Tennessee football could heavily target in its 2023 recruiting class. However, receiver is not a necessity for the Vols given how well Josh Heupel has recruited in the area. Of the two, Redmond is a more important player to target.

The Vols should always go for their elite local products, and Redmond fits the bill, coming out of Knox County. Standing between 6’0″ and 6’1″ and weighing in the range of 180 to 185 pounds, Redmond is a four-star across the board who could be a huge pickup for UT.

Given his frame, he could either be a wideout or a slot receiver. Although the Vols have a lot of help at both spots, they will have open competition at wideout next year, as Cedric Tillman will almost certainly be gone. Should Redmond put on another inch or two, he could end up being the perfectly player to replace Tillman in that role.

Redmond’s potential, his proximity to Rocky Top and the role he could fill all make him a solid candidate for the Vols to go after. After letting Walter Nolen go this past year, Heupel can’t lose another Powell kid. These are players he has to keep.
