2. Christopher Vizzina – Quarterback

Birmingham, Ala. (Briarwood Christian)

Again, you should always target multiple quarterbacks in every class. Tennessee football will lose Hendon Hooker after this year, and even if they return Joe Milton III, Navy Shuler and Tayven Jackson, they will need to bring in more competition to make sure they have the right options. Josh Heupel has the right candidate in this Alabama quarterback.

Jefferson County’s Christopher Vizzina, a four-star across the board, stands between 6’3″ and 6’4″ and weighs in the range of 190 to 205 pounds. He is listed as a pro-style across all services, and if he committed to Rocky Top, he would join Jackson as the two pure pocket passers in the program. That’s a big deal and would create epic competition.

Obviously, Milton and Shuler would still compete, with Milton a mobile quarterback who has a big arm and Shuler a pure dual-threat quarterback. A wide variety of styles of play would give Josh Heupel tons of options when trying to figure out who to go with.

Simply put, Vizzina would be a huge pickup, and another elite offensive year by the Vols could make them a selling point. Clemson seems like the favorite right now, but all signs point to Clemson as a program on the decline, so this is UT’s chance to pounce.
