Coming off a huge top five win over the Kentucky Wildcats on Tuesday, Tennessee basketball has another major test. This time, the Vols will be on the road for that test as they try to extend their SEC winning streak to eight games.

Rick Barnes’ team, ranked No. 16 in the AP Poll and No. 13 in the Coaches Poll, will visit the Arkansas Razorbacks in a battle between two teams separated by one game in the SEC standings. UT will be looking for its sixth straight win overall.

Eric Musselman’s Hogs, ranked No. 23 in the AP Poll and No. 25 in the Coaches Poll, are coming off a road win over the Missouri Tigers and have won 10 of their last 11 games. Here is all the information you need for Tennessee basketball’s matchup.

Despite losing both leading scorers from last year’s 25-7 team that made the NCAA Elite Eight appearance, Arkansas has benefitted from returning starter Davonte Davis along with the of returning backups J.D. Notae and Jaylin Williams. They also got help from transfers Au’Diese Toney, Stanley Umude, Chris Lykes and Trey Wade.

Less than two weeks ago, the Hogs shocked the No. 1 ranked Auburn Tigers. They are actually similar to the Vols in that they have been playing their best as of late, as they actually lost their first three SEC games, including one at home to the Vanderbilt Commodores.

A one-point loss at the Alabama Crimson Tide has been the only blemish for Arkansas since that 0-3 start. However, they are still an incredibly dangerous team, and with Olivier Nkamhoua still gone for the season, UT has a huge fight on its hands in this one.

Prediction

Arkansas may be playing a lot better right now, but they only run seven guys. Meanwhile, even without Nkamhoua, the Vols can play small-ball to keep up with Musselman’s tempo. They also still have guys like Jonas Aidoo and John Fulkerson that can force the Hogs to play their game.

Assuming Josiah-Jordan James doesn’t get in foul trouble, Tennessee basketball should pull out this win. As a result, take Tennessee +2, and they’re actually a good bet to pick outright. With both teams playing fast, the game will hit the Over 138.5 as well. It should be a thriller, but the score will look something like this: Tennessee 75 Arkansas 73.
