On a two-game losing streak and after losing their final five regular season road games, the Tennessee Lady Vols return home for two more SEC contests to close out the season. They’ll be looking to maintain their undefeated home record in conference play in the process.

Kellie Harper’s team, ranked No. 16 in the AP Poll and No. 14 in the Coaches Poll, will host the Mississippi State Bulldogs Thursday. UT lost on Sunday at the South Carolina Gamecocks, which followed a road loss last week to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

MSU, led by first-year head coach Doug Novak, comes in on a three-game losing streak, most recently falling on the road to the Missouri Tigers. Here is all the information you need for the Tennessee Lady Vols’ Thursday night matchup.

15-11 (6-8). 534. 6:30 p.m. ET. 530. Thompson-Boling Arena. Thursday, Feb. 24. 21-6 (10-4). Knoxville, Tenn.

Before this skid, Novak’s team was firmly in the NCAA Tournament. They still have a chance to get in, as they are No. 63 in the RealTime RPI and No. 54 in the NCAA NET Rankings. However, UT is their last chance at another quality win in the regular season, and that’s something they’ll need to make their case.

This is a dangerous team despite its recent struggles. Leading scorer Rickea Jackson entered the transfer portal back in January, and somehow it brought the team together. A huge reason for that is new leading scorer Anastasia Hayes, who once played for UT before Holly Warlick was fired.

On Rocky Top’s side, injuries have wrecked the program. They having won a road game since losing Keyen Green for the season, and last week, their leading scorer, Jordan Horston, was also lost for what is likely the season. Combine that with Rae Burrell missing the first half of the year and Marta Suarez never playing due to injury, and this team has had the worst of luck.

Still, the Tennessee Lady Vols seem projected to have home court advantage the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament. That’s something they can’t let go, and winning the next two games will help make it happen.
