Tennessee football: Top 10 transfers still out there for Vols to target
Senior
On paper, Tennessee football shouldn’t need an edge rusher. After all, they’re loaded at the position. Byron Young was a breakout star there last year, Tyler Baron is a rising star, and Roman Harrison has proven to be productive. Simply put, if there’s any position Rocky Top is loaded at, it’s edge rusher, and fans are thankful for that.
However, you can never have enough depth there, and while Young was the star, another star is always useful. Mitchell Agude recently included the Vols in his top four on Twitter along with the Washington Huskies, Oregon Ducks and Miami Hurricanes.
Coming out of Santiago High School in Corona, Calif., Agude went to Riverside Community College for two years before joining the UCLA Bruins. It seems as if he wants to play somewhere outside of California now given all the schools that are on his list.
Anyway, Agude stands at 6’2″ 245 pounds. Over the past two years, he has 14.5 tackles for a loss, four and a half sacks, six forced fumbles, three pass deflections, a fumble recovery and 78 tackles, 42 of which were solo. He’s got one year of eligibility left, but with UT pursuing him, he could join Young to make for an attacking duo in 2022, so why not?
