In its final game of the regular season, Tennessee basketball will be looking to avenge its only SEC loss the past month and a half. The Vols host the Arkansas Razorbacks on Senior Day after losing to the Hogs by 10 on the road just two weeks ago in its worst offensive output of league play.

Rick Barnes’ team, ranked No. 13 in both polls, most recently beat the Georgia Bulldogs on the road Tuesday. Eric Musselman’s team, ranked No. 14 in the AP Poll and No. 15 in the Coaches Poll, held off the LSU Tigers 77-76 Wednesday and has won five straight and 14 of 15.

Both of these teams enter this game still with a chance to at least share the SEC Regular season Championship. They are each one game behind the Auburn Tigers and need Auburn to lose to the South Carolina Gamecocks today. Here is all the information you need for Tennessee basketball’s Senior Day matchup.

Saturday, March 5. 22-7 (13-4). 534. Noon ET. 24-6 (13-4). 524. Thompson-Boling Arena. Knoxville, Tenn.

If Auburn does win its game, this matchup will determine seeding in the SEC Tournament. Both teams have already clinched double-byes along with Auburn and the Kentucky Wildcats. UK has the same league record as Arkansas and UT, so all could be seeded No. 1 through No. 4 in the tourney depending on what happens Saturday.

A win by Rocky Top should earn it a No. 2 seed in the tournament. However, a loss will likely mean a No. 4 seed unless Auburn or Kentucky, who visits the Florida Gators today, loses. All four teams will play their first SEC Tournament game on Friday, March 11.

Prediction

Although they likely have nothing to play for, the Vols have too much pride to lose this game. They’re undefeated at home this year, they want to send John Fulkerson off right on Senior Day, and they don’t want to be swept by Arkansas in the regular season.

As a result, despite how red-hot the Hogs are, Tennessee basketball will control this game. Barnes’ team won’t struggle as much from the field as this game, so take the Over 140. Also, take Tennessee -5.5 because they’ll have a hot shooting afternoon. The score on Saturday will look something like this: Tennessee 77 Arkansas 70.
