1. Tennessee (2-seed) in every game

First game: Friday, March 11 at 6 p.m. ET

Let’s close with a little old-school thinking. The easiest way for Tennessee basketball to win the SEC Tournament championship is to, well, win every game they play. Obviously, that should be mentioned as the peak rooting interest for Vol fans going forward.

The Vols will face the winner between Mississippi State and South Carolina Friday evening. Although facing Mississippi State will be easier for them, it’s more important that they actually win that game regardless than who wins the night before. After all, this whole setup is all about how the Vols can win.

Sorry to state the obvious, but you can’t focus on other programs when not taking care of your own house. What happens if Rocky Top does have to face Kentucky on Saturday and then Auburn on Sunday? Well, then they’ll just have to win those games to win the SEC Tournament.

Next. Five Vols who won the most. dark

It’s been 43 years since Tennessee basketball last won the SEC Tournament Championship. Can the Vols pull it off again? They might have a tough road to do it, but hey, if that road’s tougher, it’ll actually be better if they win every game. The north star, though, is winning it, so rooting interests in other matchups are still relevant.
