Guard/Forward; Freshman; 6’8″ 205 pounds

There are a few dangerous backcourt players for Michigan to make March Madness a problem for UT. However, Caleb Houstan is the best three-point shooter of all of them, and he’s the only one who will actually bring a size advantage. Houston hits just under two a game and is shooting 36.6 percent from three, averaging 10.5 points per game.

Houstan, like Isaiah Wilkins, is about versatility in addition to his three-point shooting, as he averages four rebounds and just under one and a half assists per game. Technically, Eli Brooks is a more efficient three-point shooter, going 38.9 percent from beyond the arc.

However, Brooks makes slightly fewer per game than Houstan, although it’s still over one and a half, and he is only 6’1″ 185 pounds. As a result, Santiago Vescovi, who’s an underrated defender, should be able to handle him with his size. Meanwhile, Kennedy Chandler should own DeVante Jones, so that clears up Michigan’s backcourt.

Only Brooks could be a real threat. Again, Josiah-Jordan James will handle him, and Houstan does have two inches on James. As a result, him getting hot is the scariest scenario for the Vols, and that’s why he’s got to be on this list. There’s a reason he’s considered a one-and-done prospect.
