Like Solon Page III, Cheyenne Labruzza is a Butch Jones recruit. He joined Tennessee football out of Louisiana back in 2017, and he actually played four games that year. It seemed as if he and Shawn Shamburger were in competition for the future starting nickel spot.

Well, after that year, Labruzza remained buried in the depth chart. He is a true safety who can play nickel, and this is his last year to lock up a rotational role. That would be at nickel given how the safety spots are taken. Given the limited number of positions he could start at and the fact that he’s on his last year of eligibility, he top this list.

Labruzza, like Doneiko Slaughter and Desmond Williams, has to compete with a ton of defensive backs who won’t arrive or play until August and will get more of a look then. Brandon Turnage, Kamal Hadden, De’Shawn Rucker, Warren Burrell and Wesley Walker could all lock up one of the cornerback or nickel slots.
