Ranking Tennessee football’s early enrollees for 2022 by potential impact
6’1″ 206 pounds
Getting back to receivers, Cameron Miller has a huge advantage over Marquarius White and Chas Nimrod. For starters, given his size, he could fill Tennessee football’s void as the No. 2 wideout or the slot guy. That versatility alone gives him one of the better chances to become a major contributor for Rocky Top this Fall.
Equally as important, the in-state commitment who graduated from Memphis Academy of Health Sciences in Shelby County comes with higher projected expectations. Miller is a four-star on two services, Rivals and ESPN, while Nimrod and White were just four-stars on one. On3 and 247Sports still have Miller as a three-star, to be fair.
Either way, last year, JaVonta Payton became a major big-play contributor for the Vols at wideout at just 6’1″, so a guy like Miller could do the same. He has over 25 pounds on Payton too, so he’s definitely physical enough to play wideout, and that could help if he plays slot and goes over the middle as well.
Now, there is competition for him as a versatile receiver, as Walker Merrill also fits this mold at 6’1″ 195 pounds, and they both have competition for the guys who are all competing for the wideout or slot spots. However, having the chance to play both is a huge edge.
