Tennessee football: Cade Mays’ five best NFL landing spots
Lost AFC Divisional Round
If you’re looking for a team that needs help at offensive line solely from a depth perspective and would like a guy they could develop, the Tennessee Titans are that team. As a Knoxville kid, Cade Mays would probably love to stay in state after playing the past two years with Tennessee football. This could be his best situation.
Tennessee let Roger Saffold III walk this offseason. Jon Robinson clearly has faith in the guys he has found behind him at guard, and that’s where he’ll turn, particularly Aaron Brewer. However, that doesn’t mean that there won’t be competition and that immediate depth isn’t needed.
That’s where Mays come in. There’s a battle at one guard spot and still a need for depth behind Nate Davis on the other side, and Mays could fill both voids. Also, when you talk about versatility, the Titans always have questions at right tackle, and Taylor Lewan is injury prone on the left side.
Taking all of that into account along with Robinson’s and Mike Vrabel’s commitment to developing players, Nashville is a great spot for Mays. Run-blocking is where Mays thrives the most, and we know the Titans love to run the ball, so everything is in place for this marriage to happen.
