Lost NFC Divisional Round

After losing Billy Turner to the Denver Broncos and Lucas Patrick to the Chicago Bears while Elgton Jenkins  recovers from an injury last November, the Green Bay Packers need to focus heavily on their offensive line. Given the contract they just gave Aaron Rodgers, they need to find steals in the NFL Draft as well.

All this leads to a need for depth and versatility, so Cade Mays is the perfect fit for them. Green Bay has had success with Tennessee football offensive linemen in the past, as Scott Wells and Chad Clifton were both starters on their Super Bowl Championship team over a decade ago.

Why not repeat that success again with a guy like Mays? Like Mays, Wells and Clifton were Tennessee football players who were from the state. If Rodgers is going to win his second Super Bowl title, that could be the omen he needs to finally end that drought.

With a new offensive line coach, the Packers will be looking for more guys they can develop, and Mays fits that bill. There are still bodies up front, so Mays wouldn’t likely start this year, but he’d be a reliable utility lineman who could turn into a starter down the road. Simply put, this is a great situation for him.
