Tennessee football: Cade Mays’ five best NFL landing spots

This is another team that had a huge need on the offensive line but didn’t address it in free agency. As a result, the Las Vegas Raiders will likely spend the NFL Draft trying to load up on as many offensive linemen as possible so they have options going forward.

This was mentioned in our post about Matthew Butler’s best landing spots, but Vegas has already shown an ability to develop Tennessee football players in the trenches. On the defensive line, Kendal Vickers emerged for them out of nowhere. Mays has more hype than Vickers, but the Raiders could still develop him into a steal.

With new head coach Josh McDaniels, experience in the power rushing attack will be crucial Mays was key to that when he played for Jim Chaney on Rocky Top and with Georgia despite not doing as much of that last year in Heupel’s spread as a right tackle. As a result, he could shock Vegas with how prepared he is.

Taking all of that into account, the former Tennessee football lineman’s best fit is Vegas. It’s clear the Raiders need versatility, and they also need interior linemen, so Mays fits everything they need from scheme to specific voids. He’d be a late pick for them but one they wouldn’t regret.
