Tennessee football’s top 10 winners from spring practice 2022

All expectations were for Jalin Hyatt to be Tennessee football’s No. 1 receiver last year. However, he admitted that he didn’t have the right mindset, which slowed his development, and he fell behind Cedric Tillman, JaVonta Payton and Velus Jones Jr. when he could have played all three roles. It appears to be different for him this year.
Hyatt was consistently shouted out by Josh Heupel specifically on the year. It started with him scoring a touchdown in the Vols’ first scrimmage, according to Heupel. That one wasn’t open to the public, and Jimmy Calloway was the star receiver of the second scrimmage.
Anyway, in his final press conference of spring ball, Heupel said that Hyatt had a great offseason, then he mentioned Hyatt specifically when asked about anybody who stood out. Simply put, Heupel was high on Hyatt more than anybody else, and it could not have been more clear.
As a result, at a position with tons of competition, Hyatt seems to have been the guy to almost certainly guarantee himself a starting spot. Like Calloway, he could play in the slot or the No. 2 wideout role for Tennessee football. That versatility combined with the production he was shouted out for puts him atop this list.
