Tennessee baseball series preview at Florida: Live stream, game times, TV and radio info
With two games left on Tony Vitello’s suspension and on the heels of a midweek win over the Bellarmine Knights, Tennessee baseball is back on the road this weekend looking to remain undefeated in SEC series play. They’ll also be looking to get back to sweeping teams.
UT, ranked No. 1 across every major college baseball service, will visit the Florida Gators this weekend. They head into the series after losing their first SEC game all season last weekend to the Alabama CrimsonTide despite winning two of three in the series.
Led by 15th-year head coach Kevin O’Sullivan, Florida comes in on the heels of a 10-8 midweek win over the Stetson Hatters. They won one of three games last weekend at the Vanderbilt Commodores. Here is all the information you need for Tennessee baseball’s road matchup.

So far this year, the Vols are undefeated in true road games. Of their three losses, two are technically at neutral sites, against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles and the Texas Longhorns. The other was at home to Alabama last Friday. Their six road games were all at the Vanderbilt Commodores or Ole Miss Rebels.
To be fair, that record is a bit of a trick, as UT played TTU at Smokies Stadium in Kodak, Tenn., which is still in Knox County. They also played Texas at Minute Maid Park in Houston, so that was basically a home game for Texas. Still, they have been road warriors.
On the mound for the Vols will likely be Chase Burns Friday (6-1, 2.22 ERA) and Drew Beam Sunday (8-0, 1.5 ERA), according to Dan Harralson of VolsWire.com. Saturday’s pitcher is unclear. Florida is projected to start Ryan Slater Friday (2-1, 3.52 ERA), Brandon Sproat Saturday (4-3, 4.91 ERA) and Brandon Neely Sunday (1-0, 4.30 ERA).
Vitello is still in the midst of a four-game suspension dating back to last Saturday’s win over Alabama after he made contact with the umpire in a game. He’ll be able to return for Sunday’s game. Josh Elander will continue to lead UT as the acting coach until then.
After Florida, Tennessee baseball has a midweek home matchup with the Xavier Musketeers Tuesday before hosting the Auburn Tigers for a three-game series next weekend. The Gators, will host the Kentucky Wildcats for a three-game series next weekend.
