Lost Super Bowl

Lots of Tennessee football players would be a good fit with the Cincinnati Bengals this year. Cade Mays and Matthew Butler already fit that mold. However, it’s pretty clear they need more help at defensive back as well, and that’s not just because of the late plays they gave up to lose the Super Bowl to the Los Angeles Rams.

Last year, Cincy was bad against the pass the whole season, and they need to draft multiple guys to improve there. By the time people start looking at Taylor, it’s likely the Bengals will have already taken one or two highly touted defensive backs they can build around.

However, that doesn’t mean they won’t take more for depth and competition. Taylor would have more pressure on him in Cincinnati than in Minnesota, but he would also have the chance to start immediately. Taking that into account, this would be a great landing spot for him.

Chidobe Awuzie and Eli Apple are still on the team back there, but Apple was just signed to a one-year deal. As a result, there will be competition no matter what next year in the secondary, particularly at cornerback, so going to Cincy would give Taylor a great chance to make an impact.
