Tennessee football: Alontae Taylor’s five best NFL landing spots
Lost AFC Divisional round
Anybody who saw the way they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL Playoffs knows the Buffalo Bills need help in the secondary. This was once the franchise that was Tennessee football U as well. Back in 2002, they had six players from Rocky Top: Travis Henry, Peerless Price, Shawn Bryson, Trey Teague, Phillip Crosby and Dominique Stevenson.
However, they have nobody from Rocky Top on there right now. While a big need for them is at safety, it’s pretty clear this team is going to take multiple cornerbacks in the 2022 NFL Draft, and at least one of them is likely to be a late round pick. Taylor could be that pick.
Cornerback was one area they didn’t focus on improving during free agency. That does mean they’ll use a lot of their earlier picks on players they expect to help them immediately, but the later picks will be used to bring in competition, similar to the Cincinnati Bengals’ situation.
In that context, Taylor has a great chance to land there. He could provide competition with the chance to play early, and even if he doesn’t he could provide immediate depth, which was what really got exposed down the stretch of last year. Either way, Buffalo would have value in Taylor.
