With a break from SEC play over the weekend for the first time since early March, Tennessee softball plays host to another weekend event. Coming off a midweek top five loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies, Karen Weekly’s team will hold the Lady Vol Challenge.

Ranked anywhere in the range of No. 14 to No. 17 depending on the service you use and with a 30-13 record, UT welcomes the East Carolina Pirates and UNC Greensboro Spartans to Rocky Top. They will play ECU twice, once on Saturday and once on Sunday, and UNC Greensboro once, after their first ECU game on Saturday.

The Pirates come into this weekend 19-26, on a seven-game losing streak and having lost 12 of 13. Meanwhile, the Spartans are 31-12, coming off a 5-4 loss to the Campbell Fighting Campbells Wednesday but having won six straight before that. Here is all you need to know about Tennessee softball’s games in the event.

After this weekend, Tennessee softball begins a four-game road trip, starting with a visit to the Liberty Flames Wednesday and then a return to SEC play at the Ole Miss Rebels for a three-game series next weekend. Liberty will be their last regular season non-conference foe.

Meanwhile, ECU begins a four-game home stand, hosting the UNC Central Eagles Tuesday before a three-game series against the Wichita State Shockers next weekend. UNC Greensboro will next host the Furman Paladins for a three-game series next weekend.
