Tennessee football: Ranking Vols by pro potential for 2022 NFL Draft

Despite being one of the five elite producers among the nine representing Tennessee football in the 2022 NFL Draft, Theo Jackson was the only one of the five to not receive an NFL Combine invite. Based on his college production, that was insane.
Jackson brings versatility to the table having played in a 3-4 and nickel-heavy 4-3, and he has played cornerback, safety and nickel specifically. When he finally got a year to himself to start full-time, playing nickel last year, he thrived with nine tackles for a loss, one and a half sacks, a pick-six, 78 total tackles, 37 solo tackles and 11 pass deflections, which led the team.
Despite missing the combine, Jackson was able to take part in postseason pro games and the Vols’ Pro Day. Those were enough for him to prove himself, and his Draft Scout profile has him running a 4.46 40-time with a 37-inch vertical jump, a 123-inch broad jump and a 4.25 20-yard shuttle, all of which are above average.
Now, Jackson’s 7.34 three-cone drill is below average, but everything else combined with his production suggests he should be another late-rounder. If he lands with the right team, he could become a major contributor in just a couple of years.
