Tennessee football makes cut for elite 2023 Missouri OL Logan Reichert
Elite offensive players should all be interested in Tennessee football given the system Josh Heupel runs, and they should specifically be interested in the Vols if they are from Missouri given Heupel’s track record there. He now has UT trending for one such prospect.
Logan Reichert, a four-star on Rivals and a three-star everywhere else, has the Vols in his top eight. Coming out of Raytown High School in Jackson County, Mo., where Kansas City is, Reichert’s size is what stands out, as he is between 6’6″ and 6’7″ and weighs between 345 and 370 pounds.
Joining Tennessee football on Reichert’s list are the Missouri Tigers, Arkansas Razorbacks, Ole Miss Rebels, LSU Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners, Michigan Wolverines and Oregon Ducks. He announced the schools Thursday afternoon on Twitter.
With Darnell Wright entering his senior year and questions at right tackle anyway, Reichert would naturally be a great pickup for the Vols. They need more depth on their offensive line anyway, so adding him would be huge.
Given his size, it makes sense that Reichert would be listed as an offensive tackle across the board. If he could manage to develop while maintaining that advantage, he’d be a dominant lineman in the SEC, even in an up-tempo system like Heupel’s.
Speaking of Heupel, Reichert was in middle school when Heupel was offensive coordinator of Mizzou under Barry Odom, but that connection and his recent success has to have had some sort of impact. What he did at UT last year must have added to it.
Currently, Mizzou is a unanimous favorite on the Rivals Future Cast and a majority favorite on the Rivals Fan Future Cast to land Reichert. On3 has them as a plurality favorite. As a result, Tennessee football has some work to do, but there are no 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions, and if Mizzou struggles again this year, that could easily all change.
