2. Vols are a farm team for New Orleans Saints.

When it comes to finding overlooked Tennessee football talent, nobody does it better than the New Orleans Saints. Marquez Callaway has already been mentioned. Alvin Kamara fell in the 2017 draft to the third round but has made the Pro Bowl ever year in the league.

Other contributors to the team include defensive tackle Shy Tuttle and tight end Ethan Wolf, who were both undrafted but have found their way into the rotation at their respective positions in New Orleans. Bryce Thompson, who was also mentioned, was undrafted as well. He was hurt all last year but should have an impact this year.

Simply put, New Orleans has become the place to be for the Vols. This year, though, things changed a bit, as Alontae Taylor was a high draft pick by them, going in the second round. They usually find unheralded Vols who everybody missed on to stand out.

Will that change things for Taylor? is it a bad omen? Well, there’s no way of knowing right now. However, Taylor and Thompson started together at cornerback for Tennessee football when both were healthy all three years Jeremy Pruitt was there. Now they have a chance to play together again in New Orleans.
