A huge catalyst for Hendon Hooker’s big numbers last year, Cedric Tillman returns to Tennessee football as the Vols’ No. 1 wideout. It’s actually shocking he didn’t leave early last year, but honestly, his low rating when he committed to UT out of Las Vegas, Nev., in 2019 still keeps him flying under the radar.

Tillman caught 64 passes for 1,081 yards and 12 touchdowns last year. He actually shocked the world by beating out Ramel Keyton and Jalin Hyatt to become UT’s No. 1 receiver. Velus Jones Jr. in the slot helped him, but his production was still his.

The graduate of Bishop Gorman High School out of Nevada’s Clark County is clearly the top draft prospect because his production won’t be deceiving to anybody, and nobody will think it’s that. His size, hands and leaping abilities will all speak for themselves, as they usually do with receivers.

Of course, Josh Hepel’s system will indeed allow him to thrive even more and stand out, but everything else is on him. Taking that into account, Tillman is easily Tennessee football’s best pro prospect for 2023. If the offense continues at the pace it was at last year, his production could be historically great, and the recent success of UT receivers in the pros will draw eyes to him.
