Pick Analysis. Tight end. Senior. Princeton Fant. 5. 839. Scouting Report. player

6’2″ 235 pounds

Yes, both tight ends make this list. Princeton Fant did take advantage of the COVID eligibility ruling to come back for his second senior season, as he was a three-star in-state commit to Tennessee football out of Nashville, back in 2017. Being a three-star across the board isn’t the only story surrounding Fant, though.

The graduate of LaVergne High School, which is actually closer to Murfreesboro and in Rutherford County, Tenn., not Davidson County, was not considered a tight end across all services. On Rivals, he was considered an athlete, and at UT, he was given looks at multiple positions.

Jeremy Pruitt moved him over to running back at the end of the 2018 season, before he could ever develop at tight end, only to move him back to tight end midway through 2019. Then COVID happened followed by the coaching change, so he could never truly hit his stride there.

This year, Fant is back in the same system playing the same position for the first time since he arrived on college. He’s more of the receiving tight end and will see more snaps in Heupel’s system after catching 16 passes for 220 yards and a touchdown last year. Don’t be surprised if he becomes an even bigger threat this year.
