Nevada isn’t known for producing elite high school football talent, but this is another situation where Jeremy Pruitt and his staff deserve credit. Cedric Tillman was no higher than a three-star, and in some cases he was a two-star. Coming out of Las Vegas, it’s safe to say he’s a risky bet that worked out for Tennessee football.

Pruitt and the Vols needed more help at receiver, so they took a chance on the kid out of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nev., back in 2018. After riding the bench for three years behind Jauan Jennings, Marquez Callaway, Josh Palmer and Brandon Johnson, Tillman joined lots of other receivers in competition to play Josh Heupel’s first year.

Despite guys like Ramel Keyton on the roster, Tillman won the job as the No. 1 wideout, and he was the catalyst for Heupel’s elite passing attack, catching 64 passes for 1,081 yards and 12 touchdowns. Deciding to come back for another year was huge.

Jalin Hyatt is a guy out of South Carolina who could have been on this list because of his raw potential, but Tillman is the only proven receiver returning to Tennessee football right now. As a result, he’s the only receiver on the list, and he’s one of the best players on the team.
