Speaking of Nebraska being a hub for walk-ons as we did on the opening slide, Tennessee football added a transfer from there who could make an immediate impact. Jackson Hannah draws a few connections beyond just coming from Nebraska. He comes from playing under Scott Frost, whom Heupel replaced when he took over UCF.

A Nashville kid, Hannah was actually a four-star on Rivals coming out in 2019 and a three-star everywhere else, so he has legit potential. The graduate of Montgomery Bell Academy in Davidson County, Tenn., appeared in every game for Nebraska last year, mostly on special teams, but he was in line to eventually become a regular contributor.

Having taken part in spring ball for the Vols, Hannah was standing out to the coaches with his development. As a result, he’s closer than Kwauze Garland toward making his way into the rotation, which is why he is so much higher on this list.

Also, as mentioned with Garland, Tennessee football’s three rotational linebackers last year in Solon Page III, Aaron Beasley and Jeremy Banks had the three lowest PFF regular season grades of any defender who played 100 snaps for UT. Hannah joins Juwan Mitchell and William Mohan as transfers from other Power Five schools who could address the depth there.
