Evaluating Tennessee football’s 2023 class at dead period: RBs
Commitments for 2023
Will Stallings Jr.
- Three-star
- 6’0″; 210-225 lbs
- Las Vegas, Nev.; Bishop Gorman High School
Cedric Tillman has established a pipeline for Tennessee football when it comes to underrated athletes out this school in Nevada’s Clark County. Will Stallings Jr. is listed as an athlete on some services, but it’s pretty clear he’ll play running back. He also has arguably the most complete set of tools to play the position.
Given his size, Stallings could be the future power back on Rocky Top. However, he has shown a good bit of breakaway speed to be the feature back as well. Taking that into account, Josh Heupel could find multiple ways to use him, and it depends on how Jerry Mack develops him.
Cameron Seldon (Athlete)
- Four-star
- 6’1″-6’2″; 210-225 lbs
- Heathsville, Va.; Northumberland High School
Here’s a guy who has as much a chance to play slot receiver or even be a deadly wideout as he does running back. Despite his unique size, Cameron Seldon is actually an all-purpose back because of his blazing speed. He’s just going to be a unique offensive weapon that Heupel and Alex Golesh can do a lot of things with.
Despite not likely playing running back most of the time at the next level, Seldon has the ability to fill a void there if one should ever arise, which makes him a great pickup at the position. He’s an elite prospect who could also do the same at receiver.
