Adding two commitments plus the number of guys coming back next year sets Tennessee football to go three-deep at all five offensive line positions through 2024. That’s a huge asset for Josh Heupel and his staff. After losing Wanya Morris to transfer as Jeremy Pruitt was fired, building the trenches like this was big.

Heupel’s first signee with UT was Jeremiah Crawford, a junior college transfer in UT’s 2021 class, the only player who committed to him. As a result, he has shown a focus on offensive linemen, and he focused more on that position for 2022 than almost anywhere else, which was crucial.

Now, he appears to have them set for the future. However, a little insurance never hurts, so the Vols could stand to add a couple more offensive linemen in this class, at least one. Three linemen this year and two last year creates the exact amount of depth they need.

Prediction

It will come down to the Vols and Auburn Tigers for Santon Ramil, the one player remaining on the offensive line they have a realistic chance of adding. Heupel and co. will lose out on him, though, meaning they won’t have anymore commitments in their class.

Although that doesn’t seem ideal, Tennessee football is loaded on the line and has two commitments for 2023 already. As a result, they have done what they need to do to secure depth for the future, and even with no more commitments likely coming, they’ve got time to reload later.
