With many of these players, Tennessee football is a finalist, but the Vols are underdogs to the favorite. For instance, the Kentucky Wildcats are a unanimous favorite to land Grant Godfrey, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and North Carolina Tar Heels are competing in the lead for Grant Tucker, and the Auburn Tigers appear to be in the lead for Eric Muse.
As a result, it’ll be hard for Josh Heupel to bring in a new prospect. However, there are no predictions on Rivals or 247Sports for Karmelo Overton, a guy with multiple four-star ratings. Also, he’s more of a pure linebacker than even Godfrey, who appears more of an edge rusher.
All the three-stars outside of Muse are pretty available as well, and Muse could still be in play. Using this information, Heupel’s top target going forward should be Overton, but Muse, K’Vion Thunderbird or Dion Crawford would all be decent pickups for Rocky Top.
