Despite the commitments to Tennessee football so far at safety with just one player being a cornerback, and only partially since he may play receiver, the breakdown of the Vols’ targets still on the trail is about half and half. There are a few athletes and then a solid split of cornerbacks and safeties, so Josh Heupel is focusing on both.

A.C. Mason-Young and Max Carroll are the two in-state prospects, and Carroll could be recruited as a tight end, so we still don’t know how that’s all going to shake out. However, beyond within the state, there are plenty of prospects from Florida, where Heupel has experience coaching, and Georgia, where the Vols are building a pipeline.

Taking all of that into account, UT has a great shot at plenty of the players on this list, even on the safety side, where they have secured a ton of talent. Pay attention to how this all shakes out, as any of these targets are realistic ones going forward.
