Newcomers at TE

Charlie Browder

  • 6’7″ 250 pounds
  • Redshirt freshman
  • Kingsport, Tenn. (Christ School in North Carolina)

One of the most underrated steals in the transfer portal by Tennessee football, Charlie Browder committed to play for Josh Heupel when he was head coach of the UCF Knights. However, Heupel left, and Browder spent this past year playing for the Auburn Tigers. Now, though, he is reunited with the head coach he originally committed to play for.

Browder took a redshirt last year but did make an appearance in some games, particularly on special teams. He actually came away with four solo tackles. That fits because he’s more of a physical tight end, so while Miles Campbell may be the heir apparent to Princeton Fant, Browder should be the heir apparent to Jacob Warren.

Titus Rohrer

  • 6’7″ 230 pounds
  • Freshman
  • Bryan, Ohio (Bryan High School)

He’s not a recruit or a transfer, but Titus Roher is a walk-on who could help provide depth to Tennessee football at the position this year. The Vols have a lot of talent coming in at the position. Until then, though, Rohrer’s presence could end up being useful.

With experience playing tight end and defensive end, Rohrer definitely brings a physical presence to the position, and he has seen some legitimate competition having played in Ohio. As a result, he’s a solid addition to the position given what was needed.
