Newcomers at WR

Transfers

Bru McCoy (USC Trojans)

  • 6’3″ 220 pounds
  • Redshirt junior
  • Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. (Mater Dei High School)

One of the most high-profile transfers, Bru McCoy joins Tennessee football after three years with the USC Trojans, where he transferred to from the Texas Longhorns. In the one year he played, McCoy had 21 catches for 236 yards and two touchdowns as a backup. He had an off-the-field issue last year. If he can clear that up, he’s the favorite to start at wideout opposite Cedric Tillman.

Commitments in 2022 recruiting class

Marquarius “Squirrel” White

  • 5’10” 160 pounds
  • Freshman
  • Birmingham, Ala. (Clay-Chalkville High School)

Recruited specifically for his speed, Squirrel White stood out in the slot back in the spring. With less competition there and more unique skills, Josh Heupel could find a way to use him early.

Kaleb Webb

  • 6’3″ 196 pounds
  • Freshman
  • Powder Springs, Ga. (McEachern High School)

A highly touted wideout, Kaleb Webb was another early enrollee. He’ll compete with Bru McCoy, Ramel Keyton and Walker Merrill for that starting job, so watch out.

Chas Nimrod

  • 6’3″ 192 pounds
  • Freshman
  • Bentonville, Ark. (Bentonville High School)

Just like Webb, Chas Nimrod was a highly touted early enrollee wideout, and he also turned heads in spring ball. He will compete for one of those spots too.

Cameron Miller

  • 6’1″ 206 pounds
  • Freshman
  • Memphis, Tenn. (Memphis Academy of Health and Sciences)

With a profile similar to Walker Merrill’s Cameron Miller has the body type to replace JaVonta Payton directly. He was also highly touted, so watch out for his potential with Tennessee football.
