Nearly 20 players on Tennessee football’s roster are from the city. Okay, so Atlanta has a large metropolitan area. Well, the Vols have five players from the city specifically. Two of them, Trevon Flowers and Solon Page III, are expected to be rotational players, and Flowers is expected to start.

Addison Nichols and Christian Harrison are two freshmen from the city, and Nichols has the chance to contribute on the offensive line while Harrison could be in the two-deep depth chart in the secondary soon enough. Grant Frerking, a walk-on, is the fifth player from the city. Okay, so what about beyond the city?

Well, Jaylen McCollough of Austell is guaranteed to start at safety along with Flowers. Ramel Keyton of Marietta has turned into the favorite to start at No. 2 wideout opposite Cedric Tillman. Warren Burrell of Suwanee is a favorite to start at one of the cornerback roles, and he is a returning starter just like McCollough.

Then you’ve got Doneiko Slaughter of Roswell, a projected contributor at nickel, Kurott Garland of Conyers, a projected contributor on the defensive line and Jimmy Calloway of Morrow, a projected contributor at receiver. Garland’s brother, Kwauze, Parker Ball and Miles Campbell of Douglasville and Amari McNeill, also of Suwanee, are on the roster as well.

Mo Clipper Jr. of Alpharetta, Justin Williams-Thomas of Dallas, Joshua Josephs of Kennesaw and Kaleb Webb of Powder Springs are other highly touted freshmen from the area. Simply put, Tennessee football is loaded with Atlanta area talent, and that’s where the Vols always want to be when building their program.
