2. At Georgia Bulldogs

Saturday, Nov. 5; Sanford Stadium; Athens, Ga.

If this weren’t a road game, it would actually move down to No. 4 or No. 5 for Tennessee football. Despite winning the national championship, Georgia lost a ton of talent to the NFL, way more than most teams do. This is why there are so many predictions for the Vols to pull off the upset this year against them, which would end a five-game losing streak.

However, it’s still Georgia. They have blown out the Vols every time the two have faced off since this skid began, and there’s no reason to think it will be better this year. Kirby Smart just has way more talent than Josh Heupel does, regardless of what his team lost.

Also, while experience can help, this game is in November, so Georgia’s talent will be a lot more experienced than it would be if they played in September. That’s why the Vols have a much greater advantage against a team like Pitt. UGA is going to be the most talented or second most talented team they face, and inexperience won’t be a factor when they do face off.

Speaking of when this game happens, Tennessee football will either be coming off a devastating loss or a thrilling win against Kentucky the week before. Regardless of how that plays out, it’ll impact how they approach this game, so the Vols don’t even get a focus advantage against UGA.
