8. Missouri Tigers

Saturday, Nov. 12; Neyland Stadium; Knoxville, Tenn.

Last year’s breakout game for Tennessee football appears to be more of a circled win this year. After beating the Missouri Tigers 62-24 on the road as underdogs, the Vols were finally able to even the series. Mizzou had won the first three since joining the SEC and had an advantage that UT fans couldn’t handle seeing.

Now, with the series tied at five, the Vols have the chance to finally take the lead in it this year. In terms of difficulty, well, based on what they did last year, you have to think Josh Heupel has the advantage over Eli Drinkwitz. Add in the fact that the game is in Knoxville, and it’s hard to see the Vols not establishing the same level of dominance.

This is somewhat of a trap game, as it’s between two road games in the Georgia Bulldogs and South Carolina Gamecocks. In fact, it’s the final home game of the year for UT, so there’s also the factor of multiple distractions when these two face off. On paper, though, the Vols should still dominate pretty easily.

Missouri had one of the worst defenses in the SEC last year, and Heupel destroys mediocre defenses. He honestly pads his teams’ overall offensive numbers by doing just that. This is one of those games that fits that mold, so it’ll be shocking if he doesn’t win in blowout form again.
