Pick Analysis. Jeremiah Crawford. 8. Scouting Report. Offensive lineman. Senior. player. 839

In Tennessee football’s 2021 recruiting class, Jeremiah Crawford was the only player Josh Heupel signed specifically. He committed on National Signing Day that year. The junior college transfer was needed to provide depth on the offensive line. Now, with Cade Mays gone, there’s a need for a new tackle, and he’s destined to help out.

Mays played right tackle last year, and Darnell Wright, who played left tackle, has moved over to the right side to replace Mays. That leaves competition to start at left tackle between Crawford, Dayne Davis and Florida Gators transfer Gerald Mincey. Crawford is the most experienced scholarship player of the bunch.

Now, there are really two spots open, as Glen Elarbee needs a rotational tackle. Last year, Davis played over 300 snaps despite being a backup tackle. Crawford, as a result, should win either the starting role or that rotational role. As a result, he’s bound to be a breakout player.

Last year, Crawford had the highest PFF regular season grade of any offensive lineman who played over 100 snaps, and he played 104. Combine that with the opening and the fact that Heupel had to see something in him to sign him, and he’s bound to see lots of action this year.
