Knoxville, Tenn.. 833. Game 8. 27. Saturday, Oct. 29. 31. Neyland Stadium. 839

6-2 (2-2)

This is one week before Tennessee football gets set to face Georgia. Everybody will be looking to that matchup to determine who wins the SEC East, and the Vols will be excited about that. In the process, they’ll forget about the fact that they have to face Kentucky, and they’ll pay for that. Mark Stoops team gets the win this year.

Consider that Kentucky is the team coming off a bye game this year, not the Vols. They’ll also have this one circled, as they have to be tired of losing to UT even when they have the better team, which happened to them in both 10-win seasons they’ve had under Stoops so far.

Although the Vols won last year, their offense dropped 38 while coming off a bye on a Kentucky defense that’s a lot more experienced this year. They also did it with a pick-six from Alontae Taylor, who is now gone to the NFL, creating many more questions about their secondary.

Taking all of that into account, Kentucky will dictate the flow of this game, and with it a bit more low-scoring and about ball control, they’ll pull it out. It’s rare to have Tennessee football losing to Kentucky but beating Florida in a regular season, but that’s where we are with our predictions surrounding the Vols this year.
