Tennessee football’s best prop bets against Ball State
Bets to avoid
Over/under: 68
Just like the first half over/under was a questionable prop bet, the overall over/under is definitely one to avoid. Tennessee football could carry the game to the over. We’ve got them scoring over 60 points in the game, and them breaking 51.5 is a safe bet. However, breaking 60 is a risk, and we have no idea what to expect from Ball State’s offense.
If this game hits the over, it’ll be because of Ball State’s late-game scoring that comes as a result of the Vols pulling their starters and the Cardinals finally getting settled in. However, if it’s a blowout, Ball State may pull their starters as well so they can get ready for Western Michigan.
Taking all of that into account, stay away from this bet. There’s a chance the score ends up being 56-0, and there’s a chance it ends up being 65-20. We just don’t know, and it’s all contingent on Ball State. The lack of experience on the team makes it way too much of a risk.
Ball State over/under: 16.5
Obviously, if Ball State’s offense is going to be the biggest question on the over/under, then the over/under of the team itself is also going to be too much of a question. That’s enough to say stay away from betting anything on what Ball State’s offense might do.
If you just have to take a bet on these two, going on the over 68 and Ball State at over 16.5 is the right move. Tennessee football allowed 24 points to Mizzou last year and 14 to South Alabama, which leans more toward the over. Late-game scoring by Ball State could do it. However, it’s still too much of a guess.
