Offensive grades part II

Wide receivers: A+

They didn’t rack up the yards, but Tennessee football’s receivers were superb in this game. Cedric Tillman led the way with six catches for 68 yards. Bru McCoy had a coming-out party with three catches for 42 yards, and Ramel Keyton had four catches for 57 yards.

Jimmy Holiday had 62 yards and a score. Jalin Hyatt and Walker Merrill each had touchdowns, Hyatt’s coming on the first offensive play of the game as he made an epic play. Squirrel White also had three catches, and even Jack Jancek had a catch.

Tight ends: B

Princeton Fant had a bad drop, and none of the tight ends had any receiving yards. However, they did a good job when it came to blocking, and that’s enough for us to give them an above-average grade here. Hunter Salmon should’ve had a touchdown too, but Joe Milton III overthrew him, so the unit was still fine.

Offensive line: A+

The only sack allowed was a rollout designed for Hendon Hooker where he took just a one-yard loss, so it wasn’t even on the offensive line. This unit generated 218 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns, so it obviously gets a perfect grade. Pretty much everybody was elite up front in this game, and Darnell Wright’s acting on a flop was also superb.

Overall offensive grade: A

UT scored 59 points and gained over 500 total yards. Sure, they had a couple of late turnovers, but by and large, this offense was incredible. As a result, they obviously get an A.
