Tennessee football: Top 10 former Vols in NFL for 2022 season
6th year in NFL
We go back to the Saints and somewhat back to a player who is an all-purpose offensive player, although in Alvin Kamara’s case, he’s truly a running back while Cordarrelle Patterson plays both running back and receiver. Still, both represent Tennessee football as elite weapons in the pros.
Of course, in the offseason, Kamara had serious off-the-field drama, and we can’t say how that will affect him on the field. He also had his least efficient year on the field last year, a sign of either his aging, issues without Drew Brees or both. None of that changes the fact that he’s still the best player from Rocky Top in the pros, though.
Kamara still had 240 carries for 898 yards and four touchdowns, and he also had 47 catches for 439 yards and five touchdowns. As a result, he had nine total touchdowns and over 1,300 yards from scrimmage despite only playing in 13 games and starting just 10 of them.
You can’t ignore the fact that Kamara is a five-time Pro Bowler in five years. There’s a reason that despite not being an undrafted free agent like other players on this list, he remains the biggest steal from Tennessee football in the pros right now. Falling to the third round was insane, but he has more than surpasses the expectations for him.
