Pick Analysis. Emmanuel Moseley. 4. Scouting Report. Cornerback. San Francisco 49ers. player. 42

5th year in NFL

Returning to defensive back, here is another undrafted free agent from Tennessee football who has emerged as an elite starter in the pros. Emmanuel Moseley emerged as a starter for the 49ers at cornerback in the second half of 2019, a year after he signed with them, and when healthy, he has basically started every game since then.

Last year, he only played 11 games, but he had an interception and 11 pass deflections. With him in the playoffs, San Francisco was able to reach the NFC Championship game and shut down Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers’ passing attack in the NFC Divisional Round.

It’s not likely things change much for Moseley this year, as he’ll still be a reliable corner, but he could still emerge as a star with San Francisco potentially able to make an even deeper run. With he and Cam Sutton starting while Justin Coleman is still out there, the Vols certainly have a few defensive backs filling up pro rosters.

Alontae Taylor is likely to help with that soon, as he was the second-round draft pick from Tennessee football in 2022, ironically by the Saints, who released a UT cornerback they signed last year in Bryce Thompson. Theo Jackson would’ve been another one, as he was drafted by the Titans in 2022, but he was waived.
