This is not one of the top 25 matchups in the SEC, but it may be the most interesting matchup of the weekend. Both teams could be evenly matched and bring a lot of interesting things to the table, and both are also trying to take another step forward as a program.

The Missouri Tigers are coming off a disappointing 6-7 season in Eli Drinkwtiz’s second year. Seeing their former offensive coordinator, Josh Heupel, generate hype with Tennessee football may only cause more pain, but after a 52-24 win over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs to open the season, they appear on a mission to prove they are better.

Meanwhile, after going 8-5, 4-6 and 8-5, the Kansas State Wildcats are looking to take another step forward in Chris Klieman and begin reclaiming the glory days of Bill Snyder. A 34-0 win over the South Dakota Coyotes appears to have been a good start.

Prediction

Honestly, there is no prediction that’s too crazy for this game. Everything is reasonable. With that, despite KSU hosting this former Big 12 matchup, the best bet is the over. Kansas State scored 20 in the first quarter last week, so they’re better than just 34 points against an FCS school, and we saw what Mizzou’s offense can do.

In terms of the spread and who wins or loses, that’s a much tougher bet. However, Kansas State appears to be the better team, and they are playing the game at home. As a result, take them to win. Take Mizzou on the spread, though, as it’ll likely be a closer matchup.

Kansas State: 35 Missouri: 31 (Missouri +7.5; Over 56)
