Another SEC vs. FCS matchup features former Tennessee football head coach Lane Kiffin trying to get his team on the right track. The Ole Miss Rebels, ranked No. 22 in the AP Poll and No. 23 in the Coaches Poll, didn’t look good putting away the Troy Trojans last week, as they won just 28-10.

Perhaps Kiffin spent too much time trolling Tennessee football in the offseason rather than getting his team ready to play without Matt Corral. It was shocking seeing the offense sputter like that, and there’s a reason Ole Miss dropped slightly in both polls. Maybe they need an FCS game to get their confidence up.

On the other side, the Central Arkansas Bears are coming off a 5-6 campaign, and entering Nathan Brown’s fifth season, they didn’t look too bad in a 27-14 loss to the Missouri State Bears to open things up. However, if they can’t beat Missouri State, they appear to be in a world of trouble against a ranked SEC foe.

Prediction

Yes, they struggled last week, but Kiffin and Ole Miss have too much firepower for their offense not to get going against an FCS school. As a result, the Rebels will cover in this one. However, the game will be in hand early enough, and Ole Miss’ offense is inconsistent enough, that the game won’t hit the over.

Ole Miss: 42 Central Arkansas: 3 (Ole Miss -34.5; Under 64)
