Other former Vols who played

Marquez Callaway – WR – New Orleans Saints

Although he was supposed to emerge as New Orleans’ No. 1 receiver, Marquez Callaway didn’t have any catches in the opener. He still played, but he didn’t rack up any stats.

Jakob Johnson – FB – Las Vegas Raiders

After three seasons with the New England Patriots, former Vol tight end Jakob Johnson had his first game with the Las Vegas Raiders Sunday. As they lost to the Los Angeles Chargers 24-19, Johnson had a one-yard catch, and he was in on eight plays, four as a blocker.

Josh Palmer – WR – Los Angeles Chargers

Opposite Jakob Johnson, Josh Palmer had three catches for five yards with the Chargers as they beat the Raiders. He also had a four-yard rush, but more is expected of him.

Jalen Reeves-Maybin – LB Houston Texans

Coming off a breakout season with the Detroit Lions, Jalen Reeves-Maybin had his first start with the Houston Texans. However, he had no tackles as they tied the Indianapolis Colts at 20.

Alontae Taylor – DB – New Orleans Saints

In his debut for the Saints at cornerback, Alontae Taylor continued a Tennessee football tradition of players shining there. However, he was slightly irrelevant, as he played sparingly and didn’t rack up any stats.

Kendal Vickers – DE – Las Vegas Raiders

Honestly, the Raiders are getting close to the Saints in finding undervalued Tennessee football talent. Kendal Vickers played a good bit again Sunday against the Chargers and had a tackle, but he didn’t have a significant impact.
